I suspect a corrupt online voting scam that got him, Soriano, and Fukudome on the starter roster. The only starter on that team is Zambrano or Hardin if you can count him.

I agree totally with Giambi. His stache has made him the Second Half of the First Half Player of the Year.
Don Mattingly er... He's OPSing to the tune of .929 right now, and having a great year. Plus, the stache is the funniest moustache to grace the sporting world in a long time.

Pretty funny article about the Giambi "get out the vote" campaign for the All-Star game. Supported by the American Moustache Institute! The AMI!

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/07/08/2008-07-08_hairraising_plan_to_get_jason_giambi_all.html

How sad has the AL shortstop position become?? 5 years ago, we were talking about ARod, Nomar, Jeter, and Tejada. It was an embarrassment of riches. Now just an embarrassment.

I would love to hear Jon Daniels with the truth serum as well. From a Reds perspective, I would do the deal all over again even knowing what I know now. Hamilton has been incredible, and part of me dreams of a 3-4-5 lineup of Hamilton-Bruce-Votto (WOW). I'd still take Volquez though. He's been incredible this year, and having that ace on the mound gives you a chance to win every game. Volquez has slipped just a bit hte last few starts, but he has the stuff to be a great pitcher in the National League for a long time.

As a Reds fan, I'm more concerned about the sudden drop-off of Aaron Harang. He is now almost two months into a prolonged slump that does not appear to be going away anytime soon. For a guy who has been a bonafide ace for the Reds the last three years, it is very uncharacteristic for him to be slumping this long. I don't know if it's an injury or a mechanical problem, but the Reds rotation needs him to return to form if they are going to have any success in the 2009 and beyond.Doughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00749996801204575270noreply@blogger.com
